The Treat Ai
Right: The Viz Video Girl Ai DVD Petition is a fans attempt to have, what
they consider, corrections and changes made to the Video Girl Ai DVD
prior to its public release. This is a purely fan effort that is meant to
enhance the overall quality of the DVD for the enjoyment of all fans. Please support this effort by signing the petition.
Big News American fans! Viz Communications
has gained the rights to the Video Girl Ai Manga and Anime. The
Video Girl Ai anime is in stores now. Brought to you by Pioneer Animation. The anime
are available in Suncoast stores
which are a division of the Musicland
Stores Corporation. The subtitled boxes have a red oval with the word subtitled
in it printed on the box, it is similar to the image above. Other than that
there is virtually no difference in packaging so look carefully. The three
tape spines form an image of Ai-chan in her video girl outfit. The manga
is being printed in Animerica Extra .
I have been an avid Video Girl Ai fan since I first saw it at a convention.
Since that day I have been trying to convince people that it is worth bringing
here. Apparently it is coming to the United States soon. I hope that my work
has had some influence in that decision. I am trying to make this page a
useful collection of Video Girl Ai resources. If you have an Ai-chan page
of your own, or know of one that I am missing, please send me a message so
that I can add it to this one. I am also looking for places that sell Video
Girl Ai related merchandise like posters, manga, and anime cells. Thanks!!
Table of Contents
I have tried to jam as many Video Girl Ai links as I possibly could into
this page, they are subdivided into the following categories:
Web Sites
This is a list of Ai-chan related World Wide Web sites.
- The Video Girl Ai Tribute
page has a gallery, midi, and a synopsis of the story. It has a rather nice
opening graphic of Ai-chan and friends. The gallery contains both anime and
manga images.
- El
televisor de Yota by Adolfo Guerra C. is a Spanish website dedicated
to Amano Ai. This page has some excellent backgrounds and looks to have an
image gallery, character guides, as well as links to other fan sites. It
is written in Spanish so I couldn't read it, but it was well worth the visit.
- The VGAI Shrine is a
French anime site dedicated to Ai-chan. The author took the time to translate
into English for non French speakers, just select the little U.K. island on
the upper left.
- The Ultimate Anime
Archive has a small section dedicated to Video Girl Ai, but for some
reason they have a picture of Video Girl Len. There is also a review from
the Anime Pocket Guide as well. There is a mirror site available.
- Celina has
set up a Spanish Video Girl Ai web page. Unfortunately I don't speak Spanish
so I am unsure of the content. There are pictures of both Ai-chan and Len-chan(Video
Girl Len).
- A good set of Video Girl Ai resources available in Germany.
Lots of links to galleries and other web pages.
- The VGAI
Info Page is a gateway to the Video Girl Ai mailing list. Please follow
the rules when applying.
- Video Girl Ai
Manga and Anime Resources by Kelvin Goh is a series of pages on the Anime
and Manga series. It contains some screen captures as well as character profiles,
complete translations of the manga, and opinions written by Mr.
Goh. The site logo is pretty cool too!
Image Archives
This is a collection of image galleries and collections.
- orangeroad.org has
a large collection of cell scans from the anime series available for viewing
on their site. What a collection it is, Lucky Devil! There are cells from
each episode in the series, as well as from the series opening.
- Sunset.com
over in Sweden has an FTP directory of images, sounds, anime translations(gzip
compressed).
Song Lyrics
This is a group of song lyrics sites.
Merchandise
This is collection of information on Video Girl Ai merchandise.
- The official VIZ Communications site
for Video Girl
Ai has information about ordering the anime series and both CDs. This
is probably the best place to find information on the US release of the series.
Currently this spot holds some JPEG files for viewing.
- I have put up a list of anime shops on my Anime & Manga Resources page.
- The manga series is available in segmented form through the new Viz Communications book called Animerica Extra. It will be available for sale
in the U.S. starting in October. This monthly magazine will feature different
translated manga, one of which is Video Girl Ai! Rush to your local
comic book dealer and order your copy today. It is vital that many people
order it and continue to buy it. Viz is a bottom line company and will discontinue
low volume titles(try and find the Viz Guyver series), so please keep this
in mind. Spread the word!
